A lot of you have been asking what happened to A Year Without Clothes. Well, it’s back. A few things have changed out of necessity but Sylva’s still going to get naked whenever possible and I’m going to be there to shoot it as much as possible. If you aren’t already following the actual Year Without Clothes Tumblr you should just so you don’t miss anything!

Day 133
Yes… that is right…. a month had gone by.  I have gotten a few emails from you all, patiently inquiring about the state of our project and waiting for the photos to start up again.  I super appreciate the love you have sent my way and really had no answer until now…..It has been quite a month since Lucky moved out!  We have tried to get together but sh*t happens and it seems we can’t sync up our schedules.  So at long last, we have decided to take a new approach to this photo blog.  Lucky is still gonna (hopefully) shoot the bulk of the photos, but we are also going to incorporate some snap shots I will take with my camera timer when he cannot be around, or those times when I am traveling without him.  I wish we could go on as we had before, but it has become impractical.  It was either adapt, or fail.  We chose to adapt!  In honor of the month that has passed without updates, we are going to do a “Bakers Year”.  You have all heard of a bakers dozen… you get 13 cookies in your cookie box?  Well this Year Without Clothes will span a bakers year… 13 months… so that we can achieve our goal of 365 photos.  I hope you are all on board with this new arrangement!!
This first few photos I took while backpacking in Yosemite.  Our hike started on the 4th of July!  We started in a place called Tuolomne Meadows and hiked a little under 8 miles to Vogelsang, which is a High Sierra Camp. It was a beautiful hike!  It has been more than 10 years since I backpacked through Yosemite and it was more magical than I remembered.  Endless postcard perfect scenes danced before us as we trudged along the trail, one hot sweaty mile at a time.  When we arrived we were fed the most amazing food, and they kindly catered to my vegetarian needs and concocted a most delicious meal for me.  I had no idea when you went backpacking in Yosemite this was an option, but it’s a pretty pimp experience. Although we still carried all of our tents and sleeping gear and a good deal of food, we had pre-arranged to have some meals cooked for us at the main campgrounds.  Go Yosemite!  These are officially the first photos I have taken of myself since high school.  Cut me some slack, I was shooting with a snap shot camera on a timer, delicately balanced on the ground.  It was a bit tricky, as I could not focus or color balance the image without being in front of the lens, and I could not be in front of the lens while adjusting the settings.  Sooooo until I have a better option, my shots may be a little blurry, and the exposure may suffer a slight bit!  But they were still taken 10,000 feet above the earth, after a 8 mile hike in my new Vibram Five Finger shoes.  About 5 minutes into the naked shots people started hiking by the trail I was sitting by :-)  You think you’re in the middle of nowhere…..Happy 4th of July!
